Habitat and Description: Shrub 6-10 ft. tall, with few, erect branches; rare in mesquite-ebony tall brush in deep, nearly level, well drained, limy, calcareous fine sandy loam Aridic Ustochrepts (McAllen Series) over sandstone and caliche of the Goliad Formation (Pliocene).
