Habitat and Description: Locally abundant in moderately deep, well drained, slightly acid, fine sandy loam Ultic Paleustalfs (Bonti Series ) over Pennsylvanian sandstones, in grassland clearing in upland post oak woodland. Associates include (see16 species on herbarium sheet).
