Habitat and Description: Stems ca. 1 ft. tall, numerous (hundreds) in clump ca. 3-4 ft. in diam; rare but quite conspicuous in calcareous gravelly clay loam in level area at foot of gentle open rocky slope, edge of little bluestem grassland on broad bench.
