Habitat and Description: Locally abundant in reddish sandyloam over Yegua Formation (Eocene) on occasionally mown highway right-of-way on unshaded upland in post oak belt. Associates include Castilleja indivisa, Krigia occidentalis, Opuntia sp., Callirhoe involucrata, Leptoloma cognatum.
