Habitat and Description: Common in deep, nearly level to concave, somewhat poorly drained, noncalcareous clay Udic Pellusterts (Tiocano Series). Associates include Aster subulatus, Cyperus ochraceus, C. odoratus, Echinochloa sp., Echinodorus rostratus, Eleocharis sp., Heteranthera dubia, Leptochloa nealleyi, L. uninervia, Malachra scandens, Persicaria lapathifolia, Sagittaria longiloba, Sesbania macrocarpa, Typha domingensis.
