Habitat and Description: Occasional shrub in Tamaulipan shrubland on eroded caliche slope (Beaumont Formation). Associates include Acacia rigidula, Eysenhardtia texana, Salvia ballotaeflora, Leucophyllum frutescens, Celtis pallida, Prosopis glandulosa, Lycium berlandieri, etc.
