Habitat and Description: Low shrub; common in shallow stony clay in regrowth shrubland on previously cleared runway strip on level limestone upland. Woody associates include: Acacia berlandieri, A. greggii, Aloysia gratissima, Ancistrocactus brevihamatus, Celtis pallida, Condalia viridis, Croton dioicus, C. pottsii, Echinocactus texensis, Echinocereus enneacanthus, Guaiacum angustifolium, Gymnosperma glutinosum, Jatropha dioca, Leucophyllum frutescens, Opunita lindheimeri, Salvia farinacea, Sophora secundiflora, Yucca treculeana, Ziziphus obtusifolia.
