Habitat and Description: Grassy openings in Quercus incana sandhill woodlands. Geology - Queen City Sand (Eocene). Soils - Arenosa (Typic Quartzipsamments). Associates include Aristida desmantha, Aster pratensis, Bouteloua hirsuta, Brazoria pulcherrima, Coreopsis intermedia, Crotonopsis linearis, Eriogonum multiflorum, Pediomelum digitatum, Physalis macrophysa, P. mollis, Polanisia erosa, Scutellaria cardiophylla, Sporobolus junceus, and Palafoxia reverchonii.
