Habitat and Description: Dry sandy longleaf pine savanna. Geology - Catahoula Formation (Miocene). Soils - Tehran (Grossarenic Paleudults). Associates include Bulbostylis ciliatifolia, Croton argyranthemus, Cyperus retrofractus, Chamaescyce cordifolia, Froelichia floridana, Gymnopogon ambiguus, Croptilon divaricatum, Monarda punctata, Paspalum setaceum, Schizachyrium scoparium, Selaginella riddellii, Triplasis purpurea, Aristida longespica, and Dichanthelium acuminatum var. villosum.
