Habitat and Description: Mesic mixed hardwood forests in ravines. Geology - Carrizo Sand over Wilcox Formation (Eocene). Canopy dominated by Carya cordiformis, Quercus alba, Liquidambar styraciflua, and Fagus grandifolia, with a subcanopy of Acer floridanum, Fraxinus americana, Ilex opaca, and Cornus florida. Shrub/herb associates include Rhus radicans, Sanguinaria canadensis, Solidago auriculata, Carex digitalis, Styrax grandifolia, Trillium gracile, Lathyrus venosus, Thelypteris hexagonoptera, Lithospermum tuberosum, Desmodium nudiflorum, Asimina triloba, and Brachyelytrum erectum.
