Habitat and Description: Common in deep, somewhat poorly drained, slightly acid loam (Annona Series, Vertic Paleudalfs) on stream terrace frequently inundated with backwater from reservoir (Lamar Lake), in shade of deciduous oak-elm forest. Associates include Carex flaccosperma, C. blanda, C. amphibola, Dichanthelium ravenelii, Melica mutica, Sanicula canadensis, Galium circaezans, G. aparine, Senecio obovatus, Myosotis macrosperma, Allium canadense var. canadense, Commelina virginica, Podophyllum peltatum, Viola sp., Geum canadense, Claytonia virginica.
