Habitat and Description: Mesic ravine forest below heavily burned pine uplands. Geology - Yegua and Cook Mountain Formations contact (Eocene). Associates include Fagus grandifolia, Ostrya virginiana, Cornus florida, Ilex opaca, Lathyrus venosus, Rhus radicans, Polystichum acrostichoides, Symplocos tinctoria, and Solidago auriculata.
