Habitat and Description: Rare in moist neutral fine sand (Galveston-Mustang association) along outside edge of Typha zone along SE margin of large natural permanent freshwater pothole pond in depression among low Pleistocene-era barrier island dunes supporting live oak-redbay woodlands. Associates include Bacopa monnieri, Cephalanthus occidentalis, Cynodon dactylon, Eleocharis montevidensis, Eupatorium serotinum, Hydrocotyle umbellata, Juncus scirpoides, Mikania scandens, Persicaria sp., Phyla lanceolata, Pluchea purpurascens, Sapium sebiferum, Scirpus californicus, Sesbania sp., Typha domingensis, Vigna luteola.
