Habitat and Description: Locally common in sandy soils in patches of little bluestem grassland openings in post oak woodland on lower portion of steep eroded slope exposing layers of limestone (Walnut Clay) and sandstone (Paluxy Sand). Associates include Antennaria fallax, Galium pilosum, Monarda punctata, Helianthemum georgianum, Cyperus filiculmis, Rudbeckia hirta, Eragrostis sessilispica, Cnidoscolus texanus, Galactia volubilis, Carex cf. muhlenbergii, Tradescantia occidentalis, Fimbristylis puberula, Dichanthelium dichotomum.
