Habitat and Description:
Common in deep, loose, somewhat excessively drained sand on sparsely vegetated sandhill on xeric portion of undulating upland topography otherwise dominated by post oak woodlands. Associates include Cnidoscolus texanus, Lechea mucronata, Monarda punctata, Opuntia sp., Stillingia sylvatica.
