Habitat and Description: Common in mixed evergreen/deciduous woodland on moderately steep S-facing limestone slopes, extending onto flat ridgetop. Woody associates include Bumelia lanuginosa, Cocculus carolinus, Forestiera pubescens, Fraxinus texensis, Quercus buckleyi, fusiformis, Q. stellata, Rhus toxicodendron var. eximia, R. trilobata, Smilax bona-nox, Symphoricarpos orbiculatus, Ulmus crassifolia.
