Habitat and Description: Common in little bluestem-brownseed paspalum grassland in large opening in post oak woodland on claypan over Catahoula Formation. Associates include Ambrosia psilostachya, Aristida longespica, Aster pratensis, Boltonia diffusa, Croton capitatus, Crotonopsis linearis, Eragrostis spectablis, Euphorbia corollata, Helenium amarum, Hypericum drummondii, Panicum hians, Paspalum plicatulum, Ruellia humilis, Schizachyrium scoparium, Sporobolus asper, Tridens strictus.
