Habitat and Description: Locally frequent in complex of deep, moderately well drained, slightly acid, fine sandy loam (Freestone Series Glossaquic Paleudalfs) and very fine sandy loam (Hicota Series, Typic Glossudalfs). Associates include Dichanthelium oligosanthes, Schizachyrium scoparium, Danthonia spicata, Luzula echinata, Carex complanata, C. cherokeensis, Carex cf. muhlenbergii, Orbexilum pedunculatum, Hypoxis hirsuta, Oenothera laciniata, Tradescantia ohioensis, Vulpia octoflora, Penstemon laxiflorus, Erigeron strigosus, Coreopsis grandiflora, Helianthus mollis, Gillenia stipulata, Monarda russeliana.
