Habitat and Description: Rare, local in clayey sand in bed of small intermittent stream through mesic post oak woodland on claypan over Catahoula Formation. Associates include Quercus stellata, Ulmus crassifolia, Juniperus virginiana, Ilex vomitoria, Quercus nigra, Forestiera acuminata, Lonicera japonica, Ampelopsis arborea, Chasmanthium sessiliflorum, Carex cherokeensis, Sanicula canadensis, Salvia lyrata.
