Habitat and Description: Occasional colonies in wetter spots in seasonally moist fine sandy loam in graminoid-dominated opening in water oak woodland. Associates include Carex cherokeensis, C. complanata, Juncus brachycarpus, J. marginatus, Tridens strictus, Limnosciadium pumilum, Sabatia campestris, Rhynchospora caduca, Paspalum plicatulum, Neptunia lutea, Cacalia plantaginea.
