Habitat and Description: An erect tufted grass-like herb. Sandy moist grounds. Annual. Perennial: roots. Soil: sand. Flowers: on terminal panicles. Color: brown. Month: May-June. Leaves: long, linear, clasping. Fruit: in brown clusters. Scattered along the side of the highway.
