Habitat and Description: Local in sparsely vegetated somewhat eroding red sandy clay loam on slight slopes in mown shortgrass grassland dominated by Buchloe dactyloides and Aristida purpurea, on essentially level treeless upland between two parallel antenna arrays. Other associates include Allium drummondii, Bouteloua rigidiseta, Castilleja purpurea var. citrina, Erigeron strigosus, Hordeum pusillum, Hymenoxys linearifolia, Krameria lanceolata, Oenothera speciosa, Pyrrhopappus sp., Scutellaria drummondii, Sisyrinchium scabrum, Sphaeralcea coccinea, Stipa leucotricha, Teucrium laciniatum, Thelesperma filifolium, Tradescantia occidentalis.
