Habitat and Description: Common in open grassy fire-maintained longleaf pine savanna on sandy loam over Willis Formation. Associates include other late successional grasses such as Andropogon gerardii, Paspalum floridanum, Tripsacum dactyloides and Panicum virgatum along with 70 other herbaceous species.
