Locality: United States, Texas, VAL VERDE, W side of eastern perimeter road, 0.0 to 0.2 mi S of jct. with road to Gould's Gulch Combat Training Area, ca. 5.25 airmiles E of jct. US 90 and F.M. 2523 E of Del Rio. Laughlin AFB. Del Rio SE Quadrangle. Elev. ca. 1040 ft.
Habitat and Description: Huge clump-forming perennial; frequent in alternately wet and dry "wetland" on deep, poorly drained, moderately alkaline clay (Pintas Series) on sub-irrigated terrace of Sacatosa Creek. Associates include Baccharis neglecta, Cephalanthus occidentalis, Eleocharis spp., Eustoma exaltatum, Helianthus annuus, Juncus torreyi, Mulenbergia lindheimeri, M. utilis (abundant), Nesaea longipes, Paspalum dilatatum, Petunia parviflora, Pluchea purpurascens, Samolus cuneatus, Sorghum halepense, Typha cf. angustifolia.
