Habitat and Description: Chaparral woodland. A small tree. Perennial. Clay soil; flowers are inconspicuous; greenish color; faint odor. Leaves pale green thin, a host for fungi. A drupe fruit; bark is rough; woody roots. Frequent in dry soil, the fruit is called "Capul".
