Habitat and Description: Over Devils River Limestone on nearly level ridgetop. Shrub 2-4 ft. tall; occasional in shortgrass grassland with scattered Acacia berlandieri, Mimosa biuncifera, and other shrubs, in shallow stony loam Lithic Calciustolls (Ector Series).
