Habitat and Description:
Erect, diffuse, spreading herb. Annual. Sand soil; flowers few flowered, axillary. Color pink-purple. Open 7AM; Close 1PM. Leaves opposite, sessile or clasping, linear. Fruit a subglobose capsule. Abundant near the Coast. Only a few flowers open daily. The leaves are thick, channelled above.
