Locality: United States, Texas, Caldwell, FM Rd 713, 3.8 mi E of jct with FM Rd 86 (in McMahan), 4.7 mi W jct with FM Rd 304 (in Delhi).
Habitat and Description: Deep, loose sand of the Carrizo Formation; oak woodland of Quercus stellata alone; understory of Ilex vomitoria with scattered Juniperus and Bumelia. Rich roadside herbaceous flora. Common annual. Bracts reddish green at base; corolla white with yellow apex, calyx whitish with pink/red tips.
