Habitat and Description:
A low diffuse herb. Open grounds, fields, etc. Annual, perennial roots. Soil: sand. Flowers: terminal clusters or spikes, red. Leaves: alternate or clustered, deep-lobed, lobes acute. The foliage on the pistilate plants are somewhat different than those on the staminate plants. Common in sandy soil.
