Habitat and Description: A small shrub. In thickets, dry soil. Perennial. Soil: clay. Flowers: axillary on upper stems, greenish, no odor. Leaves: alternate, pale beneath, serrate, ovate. Fruit: a 3 lobed capsule. Bark: gray. Roots: deep seated. Abundant in favorable soil.
