Habitat and Description: Drainage ditch. Distribution South Texas. Habit an erect herb, with grass-like leaves. Habitat edge of water. Annual. Perennial roots. Soil clay. Flowers terminal clusters. Color cream. Odor none. Month Autumn. Leaves long linear, grass-like, minutely serrate. Fruit brown, in compact clusters. Bark green. Roots fibrous. It occurs in slightly alkaline soil.
