Habitat and Description: Habit erect, tall, large tufts; habitat in shallow water; annual; soil clay; flowers large terminal panicles; color cream-brown; odor faint; month May-Aug.; leaves are long linear, pale beneath, margins rough; fruit abundant on the fruiting clusters; bark pale green; roots fibrous. Rare, stems obscurely triangle, about 1 meter high. In large tufts. It grows in shallow still water.
