Habitat and Description: Deep sand savannah, geology- Queen City Sand (Eocene). Soils Arenosa (Typic Quartzipsamments). Associates include Aristida desmantha, Bulbostylis ciliatifolia, Crotonopsis linearis, Eriogonum multiflorum, Froelichia floridana, Helianthemum georgianum, Hymenopappus artemisiaefolius, H. carrizoanus, Lechea mucronata, Loeflingia squarrosa, Monarda punctata, Paronychia drummondii, Penstemon murrayanus, Polanisia erosa, Quercus incana, Q. stellata, Stillingia sylvatica, Stylisma pickeringii, and Croton argyranthemus. Some scale margins brown.
