Habitat and Description: Bare sand openings in dry longleaf pine savannah, geology- Catahoula Formation (Miocene). Associates include Bulbostylis ciliatifolia, Croton argyranthemus, Diodia teres, Euphorbia cordifolia, Helianthemum georgianum, Hypericum drummondii, Paspalum setaceum, Polypremum procumbens, Quercus incana, Tephrosia virginiana, Aristida longespica, Pityopsis graminifolia, Ascyrum hypericoides, and Lechea tenuifolia.
