Habitat and Description: Habit erect, tufted, grass-like herb; habitat semi-moist open ground; annual; perennial roots; soil sand-loam; flowers loose terminal panicles; color light brown; odor none; month June-Sept.; leaves nearly smooth, leafy at the base, narrow linear; roots fiberous. Scattered, commonly tufted or several stems from same roots.
