Habitat and Description: Common in moist, poorly drained, moderately alkaline fine sand (Mustang Series, Typic Psammaquents) in natural ephemeral fresh-water pothole pond among live oak-redbay woodlands on Pleistocene-era barrier island. Associates include Centella asiatica, Cyperus polystachyos, Fuirena scirpoidea, Juncus validus, Phyla lanceolata, Spiranthes vernalis.
