Habitat and Description: Locally common in moist, poorly drained, moderately alkaline fine sand (Mustang Series, Typic Psammaquents) in natural ephemeral fresh-water pothole pond among live oak-redbay woodlands on Pleistocene-era barrier island. Associates include Bacopa monnieri, Centella asiatica, Fimbristylis autumnalis, Fuirena scirpoides, Fuirena simplex, Hydrocotyle bonariensis, Phyla lanceolata, Rhynchospora latifolia, Rhynchospora microcarpa.
