Habitat and Description: Rare in packed shell in openings in dense thicket of Forestiera angustifolia, Zanthoxylum fagara, etc. Other woody associates include Ampelopsis arborea, Amyris texana, Baccharis texana, Berberis trifoliolata, Celtis reticulata, Colubrina texensis, Condalia hookeri, Diospyros texana, Ilex vomitoria, Iva frutescens, Lantana horrida, Opuntia lindheimeri, Prosopis glandulosa, Rhus toxidodendron, Rubus trivialis, Smilax bona-nox, Vitis mustangensis, Yucca treculeana. Dominant herbs in openings include Thelesperma filifolium, Schoenocaulon drummondii, Bouteloua hirsuta.
