Habitat and Description:
Rare, local on dry vertical rimrock exposure of Cow Creek Limestone (Cretaceous) shaded by mostly deciduous canyon woodland (Quercus buckleyi, Ulmus crassifolia, Juniperus ashei, etc. Associates include Passiflora affnis, Cheilanthes alabamensis, Brickellia cylindracea, Smilax bona-nox, Ungnadia speciosa, Salvia roemeriana.
