Habitat and Description: Occasional in grassy diverse ground layer of fire-maintained pine savanna on poorly to moderately well drained, strongly acid, very fine sandy loam over Beaumont Formation. Associates include Andropogon gerardii, Aristida longespica, A. purpurascens, Bigelowia nuttallii, Boltonia diffusa, Eryngium yucciflolium, Eupatorium rotundifolium, Heleastrum hemisphaericum, Helianthus angustifolius, Liatris acidota, L. aspera, L. squarrulosa, Manfreda virginica, Oxypolis rigidior, Panicum anceps, P. virgatum, Paspalum foridanum, P. setaceum, Pityopsis graminifolia, Polypremum procumbens, Pycnanthemum albescens, P. tenuifolium, Rhynchospora sp., Schizachyrium scoparium, S. tenerum, Scleria reticularis, Solidago nitida, S. odora.
