Habitat and Description: Frequent in wet silt in open swamp forest and along margin of freshwater marsh. Associates include Carex glaucescens, Cyperus pseudovegetus, Eleocharis montana, E. tuberculosa, Erianthus strictus, Juncus effusus, Leersia hexandra, Panicum gymnocarpon, P. rigidulum, Paspalum urvillei, Rhynchospora corniculata, R. inexpansa, Xyris sp., Alternanthera philoxeroides, Bacopa caroliniana, Hydrolea ovata, Justicia lanceolata, Ludwigia decurrens, Ludwigia pilosa, Mecardonia acuminata, Mikania scandens, Pluchea foetida, Pontedria cordata, Sagittaria sp., Spilanthes americana, Vernonia missurica.
