Habitat and Description: Erect, tall, tufted grass. Ditches and semi-moist ground. Soil: clay. Flowers are a terminal panicle. Color: reddish. Leaves rather leafy, with many leaves from below. Fruit is a fluffy, hairy panicle. Bark: pale green. Roots deep seated. Frequent in its preferred habitat, absent on dry ground.
