Habitat and Description: Frequent in heavily utilized shortgrass grassland dominated by Lesquerella fendleri and dotted with Nolina texana, in extremely shallow gravelly stony soils on +/- flat ridgetop. Other associates include Aloysia wrightii, Astragalus sp., Astragalus wootonii, Berberis trifoliolata, Bouteloua sp., Calylophus hartwegii, Chaetopappa ericoides, Condalia ericoides, Croton sp., Dalea formosa, Dyschoriste decumbens, Dyssodia acerosa, Ephedra sp., Krameria ramosissima, Machaeranthera sp., Mimosa biuncifera, Opuntia sp.
