Habitat and Description: Occasional in Tamaulipan Thornscrub shrubland on natural shell/sand ridge. Woody components of shell ridge shrubland include Acacia smallii, Acacia rigidula, Amyris texana, Baccharis texana, Berberis trifoliolata, Borrichia frutescens, Bumelia celastrina, B. lanuginosa, Celtis cf. laevigata, Cissus incisa, Condalia hookeri, Diospyros texana, Ehretia anacua, Erythrina herbacea, Forestiera angustifolia, Indigofera suffruticosa, Lantana horrida, Lycium carolinianum, Melia azedarach, Opuntia engelmannii, Parkinsonia aculeata, Prosopis glandulosa, Rubus trivialis, Sabal minor, Schaefferia cuneifolia, Smilax bona-nox, Solanum triquetrum, Sophora secundiflora, Vitis mustangensis, Yucca treculeana, Zanthoxylum fagara.
