Locality: United States, Texas, Brazoria, Brazoria NWR, Hoskins Mound Unit; in transitional coastal prairie, on level landscape, 1.0-1.6 airmiles S to SSW of F. M. 2004 bridge over Chocolate Bayou, ca. 3.5-4.1 airmiles N to NNE of summit of Hoskins Mound. Hoskins Mound Quadrangle. Elev. 5 - 9 ft.

Habitat and Description: Common to locally abundant, thousands of plants observed in ungrazed, frequently burned, transitional coastal prairie on somewhat poorly drained, saline, fine sandy loam Typic Natraqualfs (Narta Series) and poorly drained, mildly alkaline, slightly saline dark clay Typic Pelluderts (Francitas Series), on level landscape over Beaumont Formation. Often in low, relatively sparse vegetation with Aristida oligantha, A. longespica, Chaetopappa asteroides. Other associates include Agalinis oligophylla, Ambrosia psilostachya, Aristida purpurascens, Boltonia diffusa, Borrichia frutescens, Eragrostis spectabilis, Eryngium yuccifolium, Euthamia leptocephala, E. pulverulenta, Hedyotis nigricans, Iva angustifolia, Liatris acidota, L. pycnostachya, Lythrum lanceolatum, Manfreda virginica, Muhlenbergia capillaris, Paspalum pubiflorum, Schizachyrium scoparium, Schrankia hystericina, Sida lindheimeri, Solidago sempervirens, Spartina patens, S. spartinae, Sporobolus asper var. drummondii, Tridens strictus.
