Habitat and Description: Common among other short species in tight fine sand on dry gently sloping flats in transition zone between upland oak thickets (on deeper looser sand) and tidal flat vegetation (on heavier saline soils). Associates include Eragrostis sessilispica, Eragrostis secundiflora, Lechea san-sabeana, Linum cf. imbricatum, Neptunia pubescens, Palafoxia texana, Polypremum procumbens, Portulaca mundula, Sida lindheimeri, Sporobolus pyramidatus, Stylosanthes biflora, Talinum parviflorum, Xanthisma texanum.
