Habitat and Description: Occasional in openings in mixed low shrubland on saline fine sandy loam (Willamar Series) over Beaumont Formation. Common components of shrubland include Ericameria austrotexana, Forestiera angustifolia, Bastardia viscosa. Other associates include Acanthocereus pentagonus, Borrichia frutescens, Celtis pallida, Condalia hookeri, Karwinskia humboldtiana, Maytenus phyllanthoides, Opuntia lindheimeri, O. leptocaulis, Prosopis glandulosa, Yucca treculeana, Ziziphus obtusifolius, Cienfuegosia drummondii, Eupatorium azureum, Spartina spartinae, Verbesina microptera.
