Habitat and Description: Corolla pink or lilac; frequent in shrubland on deep, well drained calcareous clay loam Aridisols (Point Isabel Series) on top of clay dune (loma). Associates include Acacia schaffneri, Baccharis texana, Borrichia frutescens, Citharexylum berlandieri, Croton humilis, Gymnosperma glutinosum, Jatropha dioica, Karwinskia humboldtiana, Lantana horrida, Maytenus phyllanthoides, Phaulothamnus spinescens, Prosopis glandulosa, P. reptans, Schaefferia cuneifolia, Yucca treculeana, Zanthoxylum fagara, Cenchrus ciliaris, Chloris cucullata, Clematis drummondii, Cynanchum maccartii, Eupatorium azureum, Malvastrum americanum, Panicum cf. hallii, Parthenium hysterophorus, Setaria leucopila, Solanum triquetrum, Sporobolus wrightii, Verbesinamicroptera.
