Habitat and Description: Prairie opening on footslopes on escarpment, area of sandstone outcrop and sandy loam (Tight Sandy Loam range site with Truce fine sandy loam soil) dominated by post oak but badly invaded by Ashe juniper. Flowers yellow. Locally dominant herb.
