Habitat and Description: Common in utility line clearing through pine-oak forest on sandy slope at contact of Willis and Fleming formations. Herbaceous associates include Aureolaria grandiflora, Bulbostylis sp., Croptilon divaricatum, Crotallaria sagittalis, Crotonopsis elliptica, Cyperus retrofractus, Dichanthelium lanuginosum, D. laxiflorus, Diodia teres, Gymnopogon ambiguus, Helianthus carolinianum, Heterotheca pilosa, Hypericum drummondii, Hypericum gentianoides, Ipomaea pandurata, Liatris elegans, Monarda punctata, Panicum capillare, Penstemon laxiflorus, Phlox pilosa, Pteridium aquilinum, Pycnanthemum albescens, Silene subciliata, Solidago odora, Strophostyles umbellata, Stylosanthes biflora, Vernonia texana.
